Julie Spain is a dedicated legal professional and proud Fairbanks High School graduate, committed to serving Union County and its neighboring counties. She earned her bachelor's degree in political science from The Ohio State University and graduated cum laude from Indiana University's Maurer School of Law in 2014.
Julie's legal career is marked by her commitment to public service. She serves as the Assistant City Law Director for the City of Marysville , the Village Solicitor for Richwood , and legal counsel for Paris Township. In 2023, she led the Union County Bar Association as its president, following three years on the executive board.
Beyond her professional roles, Julie is deeply invested in her community. She dedicated a decade to volunteering with the Union County Foundation and currently serves on the Elizaveta Fund board, which provides funding to local families pursuing adoption. In 2021, Julie founded the Marysville Plant Library, a volunteer-run community program that makes gardening accessible and fun for thousands of residents each year through the free exchange of plants and gardening supplies. The Marysville Plant Library has grown into a thriving community-building initiative with nearly 5,000 members and a new home at the Marysville Art League. Julie continues to play an active leadership role in the project, which reflects her belief in the power of grassroots efforts to create positive change.
When not practicing law, Julie enjoys hiking with her family, attending her children's sporting events, and supporting the local arts community.
